Why has the Tea App data dump not gotten more publicity? It REALLY needs to be used as an example of why companies should not collect IDs online, ever
13 things I would have told myself before building an autorouter 🧵 I’ve spent about a year working on an autorouter for tscircuit (an open-source electronics CAD kernel written in Typescript). If I could go back a year, these are the 13 things I would tell myself
Any time I am debugging a difficult software or hardware bug my first question is always: What can't I see, and how can I make it visible? Seems obvious, but asking the question makes you consider what you think you can see or measure but actually can't
This will change everything, even if it costs $20k it will be worth it

Our biggest problem as a country right now is that every headline is about a person instead of a policy We need to be debating POLICIES, not politicians or people
In a few years, not using AI to write and evaluate code will be seen as wildly incompetent as not salting hashes
This is the tech optimism we need more of! Why is the media not showing this more?
Eric Schmidt says we're on the verge of AI replacing most programming and math tasks these domains are scale-free and don't require real-world data — just compute "world-class AI mathematicians will emerge in the next year, and top-tier AI programmers within two"
I have never understood why Chrome has "Close tabs to the right" but not "Close tabs to the Left" When you open a new tab, it opens on the right. It would be so much more useful to close OLD tabs on the left? Why not have both options?

When my dad taught me to drive, he would tell me to verbally predict what each car around me was about to do. I still conciously do this in my head decades later. AI is exactly the same. Driving is 99% prediction and 1% reaction. Predicting what you can't see is more important…
I wonder how many of the top accounts on X are actually owned/operated by X. It would be a very good way to detect bot traffic with subtle posts
This is what happens when you use Field Oriented Control on a brushless motor
When you stare into the washing machine, the washing machine also stares into you
Having an old harmonic reducer on your desk can be amazingly distracting
commaCarSegments v2 is out 🚗 It's 3000 hours of CAN data from our fleet of 20k openpilot users all over the world. Play with more raw CAN data from production cars than @Ford or @Rivian even have access to. Which cars have the best AEB? Road noise? Let's find out!
PCB layout will be one of the first EE roles to be taken by AI. Someone is going to combine a physics simulator, a DRC implementation, and a relatively small AI model (possibly diffusion?) Low hanging fruit because the output is easily verifiable with enough compute
1.5 Megawatt car. Equivalent power to about 5 acres of solar panels. 1.5MW Could power roughly 500 to 1000 homes 😮
Rimac's new Nevera R EV just set a new 0–60 mph world record of 1.66 seconds. It also reached a top speed of 268 mph, and broke 24 world records in total. The Nevera R EV starts at $2.5 million.
This will not age well. xAI is about to take the lead.
