Good morning from ECC! Our friends from @WehrkampE are here with us today helping aerify all of our renovation zoysia areas. This will help begin and tighten and smooth these areas up.

This afternoon’s subsurface greens temperature is dangerously high. This over a 10 day period is unhealthy. Our roots are holding strong at the moment but carbohydrate use overload is ramping up. The @USGAGrnSection moisture meter is a nice tool.

The bench at the PPDL was all mine today. If struggling to keep cool season grass healthy in 90+ F temps with 75+ F dew points, rest assured you are not alone!
80 degrees on the way in this morning at 5:00 and this right before bedtime. Tough stretch for cool season grasses. Keep grinding guys and gals, golfers be patient. It will eventually break.

Good afternoon from ECC! A nice breeze today but still hot. This breeze today will help keep things moving throughout the plant. Another check on the 100 day calendar. Indiana boys, hold on, a cold front is teasing us a week out!

Evansville is experiencing its second-most humid summer in 105 years. From June 1st to July 20th (and counting),the dew points have consistently remained at or above 70 degrees, creating challenging conditions for bentgrass. It will eventually break! @Wayne_C_Hart

I see you. If this stays true bentgrass will have its first opportunity to relax since the middle of June. The fight of 2025 will continue for a while longer. Good luck all.

Two newly certified and TWENTY THREE recertified superintendents this June. Way to go! @GCSAA is here to help if you want to join this esteemed group: bit.ly/gcsaa-cgcs
It’s about that time!!! That time of some of the hottest conditions for the whole year aka the Dog Days of Summer! Try to stay cool!
This week is kicking off with some additional drainage in our driving range, a little sod is scheduled for Wednesday to complete our rehab on the winter injured bermuda.

Have a week, Isaiah Schaefer 👏 The freshman stepped up in Fargo, taking 3rd in Greco-Roman and 7th in Freestyle. We’ve got a Dawg coming to WL.
Good afternoon from ECC! Over 4 inches of rain since last Saturday afternoon. This will be our 8th day in a row with some sort of precipitation. It has been a tough 20 day stretch with elevated dew points and humidity. A nighttime low in the 60’s will be good! @Wayne_C_Hart

Humidity is what drives the bus when you’re managing cool-season grasses in the Commonwealth. It’s all about the Dewpoint! 🤢 #kywx
Tropical humidity is firmly in place across the Bluegrass state, and this will aid in the flash flood potential. The Kentucky Mesonet has a dewpoint of 81 in western Kentucky. For reference, the current dewpoint is 78 in Miami and 77 in New Orleans. #kywx
Tomorrow we will get sprayed up for this brutal stretch of weather. This is not bentgrass weather folks. The nighttime temperatures are the most concerning here. Zero rest for your turf. Expect slower greens as we adjust our maintenance practices in order to survive.

Good morning from ECC! A small drainage project in the landing area of this gem will hopefully be completed today. Please tee off with caution! Good day.

It has been a great week to say the least!!
It’s great to hear great things about one of your assistant’s during a volunteer opportunity. @c_roberts11 represented ECC at this week’s ISCO Championship at @HurstbourneCC Nice work Chandler and congratulations!
