Bore da A first for the season, all five ospreys on the same perch at the same time last night. This was just before 10pm, a whole-family gathering on the same perch like this doesn't happen very often.

Bore da Idris Breaks Another Record - how does he do it??
Bore gwael From a scorching and sunny 31C two days ago to torrential rain and winds today and 14C. Welcome to Wales 🏴🤪🏴

Bore da Here is the 2025 fledging blog with some fancy charts and a strong nominee for our 2025 DOP Darwin Award dyfiospreyproject.com/blog/emyr-mwt/…
Bore da Honddu fledged at 19:37 yesterday evening at 52.2 days old. He seems like a strong flier, just like his brother and sister. Brianne, Cwellyn and Honddu will stay around the nest area until the end of August, taking advantage of the Food Bank of Mum & Dad.

BRIANNE FLIES!! She fledged at 11:48 and landed successfully on Monty's perch. She's 53.8 days old.

Bore da Cwellyn is proving to be a strong flier. Once breakfast is served, will Brianne and/or Honddu fledge today?

Bore da Cwellyn spent the night on the camera pole, periodically being fed by Telyn up there. He finally landed back on the nest this morning, 14 hours later. He's currently on Montyt's Perch. He's looking good.
Bore da Both lack of wind (needed for lift) and an intruder stopped play this morning. Both Brianne and Cwellyn are, however, approaching the historic average fledgling age at this nest - in the next few hours actually. Will it be today...

Bore da We saw a big fight late yesterday evening between Brianne and Cwellyn. Quite unusual for chicks this old. Honddu (Bobby Bach) kept well out of the way!
Bore da Another fish delivery yesterday. But hang on..... look who's caught her first fish of the season on the Dyfi This is quite a bit early, even for Telyn

Bore da This is what remains of the old tower hide where it all started. You can guess the next bit.... We'll repurpose much of this timber and incorporate it into the new Photographic Hide. There's some nice timber in this pile - it just needs some TLC 🏴❤️🏴❤️

Bore da Here's an updated Dyfi Family Tree for all you guys that like to save these..

Here is the blog and video of the chick ringing on Friday dyfiospreyproject.com/blog/emyr-mwt/…
We've just ringed our three chicks: Chick 1 - FEMALE Named BRIANNE ring number BLUE 6B6 Chick 2 - MALE Named CWELLYN ring number BLUE 6B5 Chick 3 - MALE Names HONDDU ring number 6B4 (pictured) Thank you for all your name suggestions, sorry we could only use three of them!

Bore da Here's an uncommon prey item - a Rudd Rudd favour ponds, small lakes, canals and slow-flowing rivers; it has a distinctive upturned mouth that allows it to take insects from the water’s surface Maybe getting to close to the surface wasn't a great idea on this occasion?

Bore da Our chicks are starting to look more and more 'osprey-like' as their plummage develops. It was lovely to see the whole family together on the nest today, while there is still enough room... just

Name the Chicks 2025 Please enter your three suggestions below or on the Live Chat. Welsh river and waterbody names only please. Please see photos for names we've already used. You have until Saturday night, the chicks will be ringed next week 🏴🏴🏴

Bore da All three chicks have lovely orange coloured eyes now. They will gradually change to yellow over the next two years, although some (especially males) will retain some of that deep orange colour.
