Dudley Voices for Choice Self Advocacy
@DvcDudley
We are a self advocacy group for people with a learning disability/autism. In 2014 we became an independent charity.
This country is standing by year after year while vulnerable people die, we are failing to learn lessons from Perventable Deaths of autistic people and people with learning disabilities #Leder #preventabledeaths #CliveTreacey

We are so proud to continue to be truly breaking down barriers! with both Gemma and Jed to co produce the No Barriers Here project. Today we saw the chapter we all co-authored together and then made into easy read has been published. A massive achievement for us all. #inclusion
By creating such a huge delay in issuing this report, and by repeatedly giving us empty reassurances, the Government is systemically devaluing the lives of autistic people and those with learning disabilities.
We've sent a letter with over 40 signatures to the Health Secretary demanding action to get the LeDeR* programme back on track and save lives. The report was supposed to be published last November 2024. NHS England now say they won’t publish it until soon after Parliament…
Please share with your networks anyone with a learning disability and/or Autism are more than welcome to attend.

Great report on the news from Reuben channel4.com/news/is-govern…
On the 20/9 @DvcDudley and I will be walking up Snowdon to raise money for a brand new sensory room that will bring much joy into the lives of people with learning disabilities. Please share anything that you can afford - it is much appreciated 😀 gofundme.com/f/sensory-spac…
Having a good day @DvcDudley Listening & talking about Oliver McGowan training and all things self advocacy. Fantastic people making a real difference.
A long time ago, in a bureaucracy far far away...........one lonely Expert by Experience spoke these famous words with more hope than expectation............#LEDERReview @DHSCgovuk
#LDAwards has she told you something we don’t know 🤣 sorry bab you signed a contract for life 💕 #selfadvocacyworks

Where is the LeDeR report? People are dying up to 30 years younger, and these deaths could be preventable. Share the report to help create positive change! #LeDeRReport #Inequality #Inequity @NHSEngland @WesStreeting @AliveLeder #SelfAdvocacyWorks

This report is so important, many places are setting up co production teams and paying huge salaries for people who do not have the lived experience. By giving a grant to your local self advocacy group they can get the work done in a truly reflective way. local.gov.uk/publications.
We’re raising funds to create a Sensory Room that will help our community find peace and comfort. Every dollar counts! Please consider donating and sharing our mission. Thank you! gofund.me/c558b730

Winterbourne View 14 years ago the government made promises to make change, 14 years on, the beds have decreased but so has community provision. Policy needs changing, funding needs providing but above all PEOPLE NEED TO REMEMBER WE ARE ALL HUMANS AND ALL HAVE RIGHTS! #nolabel
