As far as I know, there has never been a real postmortem on the whole "$99 computers will pull the Third World out of poverty" bit that pretty much everyone in tech treated as serious for at least a decade. It moved from WIRED covers, TED talks, and UN proclamations to silence.

This is the best advice to aspiring pros I have seen.
Want to be a poker pro do you? Get a job first... something you can take pride in. Play poker on the weekends for a year. Track every daily result with complete honesty. Then let’s revisit this conversation same time next year. 💪

How is throwing a tournament when it’s heads-up different from throwing a boxing match or a final tennis match? I’m not saying I wouldn’t have done the same thing. But if WSOP lets it slide, I DEFINITELY would do the same thing.
