Help resolve the bus driver and mechanic shortage!! The Dept of Enterprise have an open consultation for the Critical Skills Visa Please respond and ask them to add Heavy Vehicle Mechanics & Bus Drivers to relieve the recruitment issue enterprise.gov.ie/en/consultatio…
Yesterday I met with @ciaranahern & this was one of the major issues I raised that can immediately resolve delays to buses all over Dublin Getting heavy vehicle mechanics on the critical skills visa will also help in the construction & logistics sectors
I will be calling for the critical skills work permit list to be opened to bus drivers and mechanics as a priority 🚌#publictransport
We’ve read the NDP Review and we’re amazed how a document whose sole function is to lay out funding commitments, can be so non-committal about what it’s funding €24.33b in funding for transport & only €2b is explained No mention of Dart+, Luas, or BusConnects 🤷

We had a great meeting today with @ciaranahern at Leinster house to discuss the various barriers and delays that sustainable transport projects are having in Dublin The Government has a lot to deliver and we expect Ciarán will be very strong in holding them to account 💪
Delighted to meet with @DublinCommuters today 🙌 Had a very productive chat with @jasoncullenfilm and @joshellul about how to get Dublin (and Ireland) moving 🚌 🚃 🚇

Woodbrook Dart station will be opening on August 10th 🚂🥳🎉 As usual, the design leaves a lot to be desired… but it’s a vital public transport connection for a new community thejournal.ie/another-new-da…
There’s one week left to get your responses in for the DLR Connector consultation Don’t forget to share your thoughts, they’ve given a number of options to choose from at many junctions, so let them know which you prefer dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/infrastructure…
As the only non-operator / union representatives on the Safety Working Group, we’ve been pushing for a centralised reporting platform for anti-social behaviour across the entire network In each meeting we’ve incrementally moved forward, more to do, but we’ll keep pushing for it
Pleased to attend this afternoon’s second Public Transport Safety Working Group meeting to continue discussions on enhancing safety across our public transport system and to gather valuable stakeholder feedback regarding Transport Security Force options. @Dept_Transport

The 2050 Luas map has been circulating for a little while now, but only the Finglas, Poolbeg, Lucan & Bray extensions are within the 2042 GDA transport Plan We need far more ambition to deliver new Luas lines in Dublin to meet growing demand

It will be years before the primary legislation for transport security gets passed by Dáil Éireann In the meantime, an Garda Síochána could increase their presence on-board buses, trains & trams, but the Superintendents we’ve spoken too about it have seemed resistant
‘I’ve had burning logs thrown on board,’ says Dublin Bus driver as new figures reveal more than 1,000 anti-social incidents last year independent.ie/regionals/dubl…
6,000 people were caught last year driving without a seatbelt It’s amazing that some drivers continue to be so reckless when behind the wheel of a vehicle
Sometimes you have to wonder how we're not extinct. Seatbelts— the single most effective safety device in a car—and yet, somehow, still too much effort for some. #roadsafety independent.ie/irish-news/tru…
