I have a sneaking suspicion some people are gonna look real silly for writing off the idea that coronavirus could‘ve come from a high-tech virology lab, run by a secretive autocratic regime, overseen by a bat expert studying coronaviruses, in the city where cases first appeared.
The chief investigator at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a bat expert, has told people she didn’t have a sample of this specific coronavirus before people started getting sick wsj.com/articles/china…

Fantastic piece from @AFergusonFTC on the @FTC’s role in ensuring kids’ online safety. It’s a firm recognition that the America First agenda is pro-family at its core. Very glad to see it. Must read indeed!

Yes, would be a real catastrophe if the name of the John F. Kennedy Center’s Opera House were politicized.
The Kennedy Center’s Opera House could soon be called the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.” A Republican proposal would rename the second-largest theater in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after first lady Melania Trump. wapo.st/456eSDF
I must confess: We kept going hunting for more bison meat than our wagon could carry because shooting bison was fun, not for what it taught us about fragile prairie ecosystems and weight-to-calorie ratios. understandingamerica.co/p/bring-back-t…

"It is easy to laugh off slippery slope arguments, but in so many cases, they prove prescient. Rehnquist was writing at a time when only one state, Oregon, was haphazardly incorporating assisted death into its laws. Now nearly a quarter of states have some form of the practice on…
"Presently, our laws give far more power to Silicon Valley than it does to parents to determine what online content will be accessible to our nation’s children. We can and should do better." 🔥🔥🔥
Fantastic piece by @AFergusonFTC at @commonplc: "Twenty-five years ago, the challenge of protecting kids online was completely different than it is today. Thus, policymakers, advocates, and parents would be foolish to think that the legislative and regulatory solutions of the…

2025 6’10 C Najai Hines (Plainfield, NJ) has committed to Seton Hall. The rising 4 ⭐️, top-100 C continued his ascent with a standout showing at the Peach Jam last week. Badly in need of big bodies, the Pirates bolster front court with a massive late addition. Welcome, Najai!🏴☠️
Very quietly, in states across the country, medically assisted suicide continues to win. Can the legal process protect life? @NicXTempore dives in.
The death rattle of the marriage between late night comedians and political analysis, one can hope.
Jon Stewart’s rebuttal to CBS canceling “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” is every bit as cringey and terrible as you would expect it to be.
I think the Times, and the people who write for it, should on occasion step back and simply ask “are we the weird ones?”

Elected Dems laser-focused on the vital issues, as always.
Three liberal senators want to know whether there is any truth to President Trump’s claim that Paramount is actually paying him about $32 million to settle his lawsuit against the company, double what was announced by the CBS parent company. wapo.st/45aoZIJ

In case anyone missed it, Drew Holden has the receipts in his extensive NPR thread: x.com/DrewHolden360/…
🧵Thread🧵 I’m not sure people realize just how egregious some of NPR’s “journalism” has been. Amid the debate about defunding the network, I wanted to walk down memory lane to revisit some of its worst coverage. There’s a lot. ⤵️
