Hello, I've decided to start a newsletter — Words on Wings! I'll be covering the Dallas Wings all season, starting with today's press conference introducing the team's draft class. Go subscribe! (Link below)
Two Dallas guards (Bueckers and Quinerly) put into jump balls against Ezi Magbegor, and neither try jumping. With clear mismatches, Wings opting to surrender possession and get set defensively instead.
Golden State Valkyries forward Kayla Thornton is undergoing evaluation for a lower leg injury. She will not play in tomorrow’s contest against the Dallas Wings.
Game Status Report: @DallasWings at Golden State Valkyries July 25, 2025 – Chase Center – San Francisco, CA Ty Harris – Out (Left Knee) Myisha Hines-Allen – Out (Right Lower Leg) Maddy Siegrist – Out (Right Knee) #WingsUp
The @DallasWings have signed Grace Berger to a second seven-day hardship contract. She will be available for tomorrow's game at Golden State. #WingsUp
Paige Bueckers played 27 minutes tonight, the fewest she's played in a win this season. She saw just under 33 minutes in Dallas' win over Phoenix to begin the month. Second-lowest minute total for her overall this year (24 in 30-point loss to Phoenix).
FINAL: Wings 87, Storm 63 Impressive road win for Dallas coming out of the All-Star break. Just thrashed Seattle in the second half. Ogunbowale: 20 pts Bueckers: 14 pts/4 reb/6 ast Geiselsoder: 13 pts Jones: 10 pts/6 reb/6 ast/2 stl/3 blk Quinerly: 9 pts/7 reb/4 ast
Was a little surprised to see Grace Berger play the first four-and-a-half minutes of the fourth quarter. But the guard nearing the end of a seven-day hardship contract has held her own out there. 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in seven minutes.
Haley Jones has a team-high plus/minus of +19, and that's no surprise based on what we've seen. 6 pts/6 reb/5 ast/1 stl/3 blk. Not shooting well (3-for-9), but doing basically everything else.
End 3Q: Wings 66, Storm 51 Dallas outscores Seattle 32-15 in the period. 27 of those points were scored by Paige Bueckers, JJ Quinerly and Arike Ogunbowale. The only other made FG was a quarter-ending Bueckers assist to Carrington.
Paige Bueckers post-ups are such a fun experience. Gives Lexie Brown the work and converts the and-one.
Arike Ogunbowale is feeling it. 18 points now and hasn't missed a three.
Bueckers makes a nice off-ball cut, receives a pass and draws a foul to open the second half. Ties the game from the line. Ogunbowale hits JJ Quinerly in transition for a layup next possession, and Quinerly assists Ogunbowale on a three after that. Seattle timeout.
HALFTIME: Storm 36, Wings 34 Dallas ends the half on a 8-0 run, capped by a high-arcing three from Arike. Luisa Geiselsoder: 11 pts Ogunbowale: 7 pts Haley Jones: 4 pts/4 reb/4 ast/3 blk Nneka Ogwumike: 12 pts Gabby Williams: 10 pts/5 reb/8 ast/3 stl
Thought Paige Bueckers might finish the first half scoreless, but she pushes the pace and gets to the rim for a layup late in the half.
Well, there's one Dallas Wing picking up where they left off before the All-Star break. Haley Jones has been outstanding. 4 pts/2 reb/3 ast/3 blk less than halfway through the second quarter.
