This is my favorite column every year, where I go deep on my evaluatory framework. It was a fun cycle.
NBA draft projection is far from a perfect science, with endless ways to evaluate a prospect. @DraftPow reflects on his process with his annual column: Lessons from a Draft Cycle. Check it out below! ⤵️
Bumping Ahmed’s piece, who blends film and statistical analysis like no one else in the grassroots scene

NBA Summer League is wrapping up, which means it's time for my initial 2025/26 farm system rankings. All players from the past three drafts were considered based on scouting priors and NBA tape Open to any debate in good faith

A few Ron Holland clips for a new piece. Improving in the NBA takes a lot of ingredients, with two essential traits being high motor and a willingness to initiate physicality. Ron has both in spades.
I re-published the second (and last before my relocation at Swish Theory) episode of the Spurs Retro Series on my substack I enjoyed greatly delving into Larry Kenon and the Doug Moe's Spurs at the time This article comes with a cool new thumbnail as well Link below
NBA Rookie self-creation rates compared to pre-draft seasons. - Collier, Castle and Bub self-created the highest percentage of makes - Dunn, Knecht and Risacher self-created the least - Edey and Clingan the only two with increases in self-creation rates (> putback freq)

Time spent on ball and potential assists per minute on ball for 2024-25's NBA rookies.

Hopefully Duke plays up tempo this year, because I had no idea Cam Boozer was THIS effective of an outlet passer. He legit looks like Kevin Love on some these transition passes wow. Extremely impressive Next Taco Takes video is gonna be on him so stay tuned 👀👀
this is what keeps me up about ryan kalkbrenner (🧵) the fundamental star/bust signals for centers are passing, finishing, & foul rate to verify, see all drafted centers since 1978 with: AST/40 > 1 2P > 60% BLK/FL > 1.5 kalk easily qualified as a sophomore. 3 times overall.
I reposted on my substack a retrospective on Michael Finley's career originally published on the dearly departed Roll Call Sports Network. I think it deserved to be still available somewhere (with a cool brand new thunbnail) You find the link below

Wrote about the one and only Cam Thomas at the end of his rookie contract, now stuck in RFA purgatory. So come read it and be mad, one way or another: netsdaily.com/2025/7/21/2447…
Avinash laid out the ultimate Egor case, using incredible statistical analysis to prove how rare and unprecedented his integration of traits are. Very compelling stuff, make sure to check it out!
