A fox followed a rabbit (very back in video) into hog trap. From past videos, this rabbit appears to hang with racoons. One of the biggest racoons in the trap then chased off the fox. Have only maybe twice think I've seen a fox across many years and many game cams.
Great Postdoc position with Dr. Tim Paape in plant genetics for someone with computational/bioinformatics or molecular biology/metabolomics expertise! At the Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture here at Texas A&M University tamus.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/AgriLife_Resea…
If you are moving to College Station with a significant other who is looking for a job and they have farm-relevant experiance - this is a full-time job with benefits! I generally pay for one class a semester to get their M.S. or Ph.D. as an employee too! tamus.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/AgriLife_Resea…
I knew it was coming this close to an election, but today appears to be the day. Tw!tter turned from partial to full cesspool of misinformation, conspiracy theories and nutjobs. Should probably check out of here for awhile for mental health, nothing trustworthy or useful left.
N = 1 is not science. How are they going to start a story with an oxymoron.
N = 1 Science is the Future! 💪
Consolidation? Agriculture?
Profits as a share of GDP has been increasing for the past 40 years. This reflects, in part, a lack of entry and a lack of competition. Profits reflect a firm’s ability to raise prices over costs or to pay wages below marginal revenue product. Rising profits are not a good thing.

I don't think academics talk enough how absolutely idiotic the organization share permissions are with Microsoft Sharepoint, preventing people from different institutions to collaboratively write without involving IT staff. AADSTS90072 I think I will stick with Google Drive.
We missed the 0.5" on farm just across Brazos river in Sept. Last rain was 95 days ago. Vegetation drier than last two summers (which were v. hot and dry). Neighbor had grass/ brush fire last night. Now might be 2nd Oct in over 135 years without rain. 🤕 kbtx.com/2024/10/22/blu…

The 4th National Artificial Intellegence in Agriculture conference will be hosted by Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS March 31- April 2, 2025. Save the date!

Educational, thoughtful and thought provoking article on the state of modern life. It's as much about abundance, oversaturation and VC-driven economics as it is about entertainment. Highly recommended. How Everyone Got Lost in Netflix’s Endless Library nytimes.com/2024/10/07/mag…
Really good read for any non-specialist interested in science.
The 2024 #NobelPrize laureates in chemistry Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have successfully utilised artificial intelligence to predict the structure of almost all known proteins. In 2020, Hassabis and Jumper presented an AI model called AlphaFold2. With its help, they have…
Dr. Katie Gold from @CornellAgriTech, at opening keynote of @I_P_P_N symposium shows detection of multiple diseases for grape growers using remote sensing, these tools can reduce the time and uncertainty between detection and intervention, well before visible observation. #IPPS8
