My concluding remarks from the 2023 Louisiana General Election Night broadcast on @FOX8NOLA.
Is there a path forward for the New Orleans Sheriff to keep her job? Spoiler alert: No.
This is my analysis of the most recent poll for the election of Mayor of New Orleans. Full story by Sabrina Wilson, with leading candidate statements, is at this link: fox8live.com//2025/07/23/mo…

I posted earlier. But I’m still getting calls and texts about this. THIS WAS NOT ME! If you see the name Robert Collins on any court documents, it’s not me, or anyone related to me!

Someone with the name of Robert Collins has filed paperwork in Civil District Court to have one of the candidates for mayor disqualified. THIS IS NOT ME! This is also not anyone related to me in any way. The problem is that Robert Collins is a fairly common name.
Lunch at Mandina’s with Times Picayune / Advocate veteran political reporter / book author @tegbridges. I met Tyler 35 years ago when he was a young beat reporter covering campaigns, and I was a young US Senate staffer. We’ve both been on the political beat a very long time.

First time working with reporter Gabby Killett @gekillett, who is (relatively) new to FOX 8. We are talking about issues on the first day of qualifying for New Orleans municipal elections.

My @veritenewsnola political column that normally comes out today will be delayed one week, due to qualifying for New Orleans municipal elections happening Wednesday through Friday. My column next Tuesday will be a summary of qualifying and preview of 2025 municipal elections.
My comments on the addition of Royce Duplessis to the race for Mayor of New Orleans.

The Bureau of Governmental Research briefing featuring Andy Kopplin, Rebecca Mowbray, myself, and Judge Calvin Johnson went well. Great audience. Link to video replay is: bgr.org/june-18-breakf…

Political people, get used to the name Zohran Mamdani. He’s going to be the next Mayor of New York. Yes, he still has to go through the ranked choice voting process on July 1. And yes, there will be a general election on November 4. But the math is clear. He’s going to be mayor.
My comments from yesterday. Full report is at: fox8live.com/2025/06/23/may…
Bureau of Governmental Research @BGRNola Breakfast Briefing Panel on the status of New Orleans on the 20th anniversary of Katrina. @andykopplin, myself, Judge Calvin Johnson. Sponsored by @FirstHorizonBnk.

@DrRobertCollins' latest column in @veritenewsnola echoes a key finding from our recent BGR NOW on the mass escape from the Orleans Parish jail: The @cityofnola must work more closely with the @OrleansParishSO to improve operations.
