Here is an EPIC new review of In Defense of Civilization by David Marks Shribman for the Literary Review of Canada (@reviewcanada). Huge! reviewcanada.ca/magazine/2023/…
One must get one's musical kicks only from bawdy madrigals.
My parents didn’t let us listen to Metal. Was devil worshipping music. Hard to see how they were wrong. Pantera used pentagrams. Even if “ironic,” or “art,” it’s demonic symbolism. Later in life I tried. Couldn’t stomach it. Made me physically ill. It’s the sound of demons.
This, along with the fever dream of 100-million Canadians, ranks as our elite's most bizarre obsession.

Carnegie built beautiful libraries across America. Rockefeller funded the restoration of Reims Cathedral.
The worst thing about becoming rich (500M+) is that there’s nothing to buy. You invest to increase your money, but that’s not buying things. 20 cars, 10 houses, yacht, jet, 15 diamond watches. Done. Then you’re left with PILES OF MONEY and nothing at all to buy besides steak.
As I say, a joint CANZUK command would instantly triple their surface fleet by tonnage and solve a lot of Indo-Pacom deterrence problem.
HMS Prince of Wales in Darwin. This is a deeply impressive picture. Full complement of F-35Bs plus Merlin ASW helicopters. It has taken a long time, but we got there.

It was a great misfortune when the Latin ablative lost its -d ending and when Greek lost its ablative altogether. Sad!
What a magnificent thing the casus Latinus was; Classical Greek lost a lot when it amalgamated it into the dative, creating a combined dative/instrumental. Ablatives 4 eva!
Nothing quite like a good ablative of penalty!
I've counted 22.
A 'Bible-based' church; or a 'church-based' Bible? You decide! No, wait. Never mind!
American Protestants don’t need to turn to “ancient communities” for their faith. They only need the Bible. That is enough. It’s all there is, in fact. All the other garbage by cosplaying latter-day Fr. Coughlins and Third World accounts is an anti-American, sectarian op.

The design of the Maple Leaf flag was officially approved on July 21, 1964, following what became known as the Great Flag Debate. The maple leaf, a symbol of Canada since the 18th century, was adopted and has become a distinct Canadian icon! 🍁🇨🇦
