I have BIG news 🎉🎉 I am so happy to share with you all the release of my first book: a poetry collection dedicated to the heritage of Indigenous people and the histories of our ancestors.

Not every moment of your life needs to be productive. Rest is productive too, just not capitalist-approved because it’s not profitable in a monetary sense. Our world profits from exhaustion and as a result sees ‘rest’ as ‘laziness’. Rest doesn’t need to be earned.

In Arabic, we have a saying: ‘aṣ-ṣāḥib sāḥib’ which translates to ‘a friend is a puller’. What we mean is that a friend is like a magnet who pulls you wherever he goes, be it good or bad. Choose your friends wisely. You don’t know where they might be taking you.

We’re not meant to be numb. You’re not meant to look away. That ache in your chest? That anger in your gut? That feeling you can’t shake that makes you feel like the world should suffer and tremble to finally wake up and put an end to this? That’s your humanity refusing to die.

Being neutral in times of oppression means choosing the side of the oppressor.

Not every moment of your day needs to be filled with scrolling, music, posts, podcasts and news. Sometimes rest is radical because it goes against what this system wants from us: burnout and exhaustion.

This was their plan all along. We’ve been telling you this. It was always to take over the entire Middle East. But we were called conspiracy theorists. There you have it. Happening right in front of our very eyes.

Sometimes I can't believe we built this. Like, humans had the chance to live with the Earth, grow food, eat fruits, sit by the beach, take care of each other. And instead we invented rent, debt, jobs that drain us, and systems that reward destruction. It never had to be this way.
