Love getting hung up on by @Cigna during a peer to peer. It seems she didn’t appreciate me asking her how she is able to look herself in the mirror after she told me she had been doing denials for 10 years.
I’m no revenue cycle expert, but I know a little bit about how physicians are paid. They don’t just submit an invoice from Quickbooks. They have to submit a CMS1500, or in certain circumstances, a UB-04 form. The 1500 claim has 33 mandatory fields. It’s purposefully designed…
This is one of the most significant posts by @DutchRojas. He states that his discussions with the Senators are fruitless. To put this into context, I will add this about Dutch: • He is great at messaging • He is respected on the hill and is experienced • He is an optimist…
Every Senator is the problem. Even the physician Senators! Yes, even the ones you think are on your side. 1.Medicare pays health systems more for the same work done by an independent physician. 2.Professional fees are down. Facility fees? Through the roof.…
Happy Doctor’s Day! I hope everyone enjoys their fancy bologna sandwich.

Happy Saturday! Had a “peer to peer” for a patient currently needing acute rehab. The @UHC physician hung up on me when I asked what type of doctor she was. This was after she stated “he didn’t meet criteria” but couldn’t clearly tell me what the criteria actually is. 🙃

#Hospitals appear per this report to be doing just fine while their physicians are looking at the 5th Medicare fee schedule cut in 5 yrs. This has to change for physicians and is not sustainable. beckershospitalreview.com/finance/hospit…

Proposed Conversion Factor of $32.26. in 2025. It was $36.69 in 1998. So even w/o inflation adjustment, doctors in 1998 made more from Medicare than doctors in 2025. Adjusted for inflation, it should be $71.33 ($32.26 in 1998 would be $17.05) #MedTwitter
Breaking: CMS has again proposed a negative Medicare physician fee schedule update for 2025 with dangerous implications for beneficiary access to care. A 2.8% reduction to the conversion factor would be alarming in the best circumstances, but to propose doing so at a time when…
