Jews are not made safer by treating antisemitism like an imported problem, or by using Jewish safety as pretense for pushing through divisive policies, or by whipping up xenophobia, or by pitting minorities against each other. Jews will not be made safer by any of this.

I was horrified to discover that Columbia student Mohsen Mahdawi was arrested. I met Mohsen at a meeting in late spring 2024 and have been in touch with him ever since. He is a remarkable and humane person who was arrested for the crime of being Palestinian.
Hamas rejected a ceasefire proposal that could have led to the end of the war because it didn't want to give up its weapons, which now exist exclusively to terrorize Palestinians in Gaza & maintain an indefinite iron grip on power. Hamas has spoken: Let all of Gaza be destroyed.
