Now reading To a God Unknown by Steinbeck. Early impressions remind me of Pan by Hamsun. Folk religion/pagan feel, with nature being so alive and virile it feels like the main character. Beautifully described setting.
Basically treat real life like "Like a Dragon" for maximum fun, gains, and xp.
You need to be side quest maxxing. Get your pilots license. Get scuba certified. Go sky diving. Get your coastal cruising certificate. Become a sommelier. Get every niche / pointless certificate & license you can.

About time I dusted this off. With shame I admit I’ve only read Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck. Just 34 pages in and absolutely gripped by the story. The family dynamics, the detailed description of Salinas Valley… so much packed in there. Looking forward to another 567 pages.
