Directors’ Cup Updates
@Direct_Cupdates
Provider of unofficial up to date scoring for Directors’ Cup. Not affiliated with Learfield or NACDA. Score: M&W Bball, Vball, Baseball + up to 15 other sports.
Without the sports Texas doesn't field (Water Polo, M Gymnastics) the gap between the @TexasLonghorns and Stanford and USC is quite large.
Not a traditional rivalry, but I'd be curious to see side-by-side scoring of shared sports between this year's "medal-winners". (Texas, USC, Stanford) Thanks for keeping your feed so interesting way past the trophy presentation!🍿
The Directors' Cup added 4 (now 5) required sports in the 2018 scoring update. These sports are the true team sports with the highest # of teams participating. M & W Bball (350/348 teams) W Soccer (335) W Vball (332) Baseball (293) Which, if any, other team sport would you add?
Lone Star Showdown - Directors' Cup Edition The @TexasLonghorns and Texas Aggies compete in 19 of the same sports (Texas - Rowing, Beach Vball). In those 19 sports, the Longhorns have a 150+ point advantage. @kyleumlang @billyliucci @AmandaMAtwell
It's time to stir up some rivalry banter as we trudge through the offseason. Let me know what rivals you want to see compared H2H in the Directors' Cup (teams both schools field). Tag your favorite social media accounts for 1 or both schools and I'll create the comparison!
The Red River Rivalry - Directors' Cup Edition Texas and OU compete in 18 of the same sports (OU - M&W Gym, Wrestling Texas - M&W Swim, Beach V-ball). In those sports, the Longhorns hold nearly a 300 point edge over the Sooners! @kyleumlang @BobbyBurtonOTF @UTBarstool

Hardly a rivalry but every time these 2 play on the gridiron it is an epic matchup. In 3 of the 4 seasons, the winner went on to play in the national championship (winning it twice) and the 4th was the Fiesta Bowl in 2009. Comparing the 20 similar sports, Texas is way ahead!
This is too good to pass up! We play Ohio St. on August 31. So let's see Texas vs Ohio State. Need to work on some data-backed trash talk for my visit to the Shoe. @TexasFootball @TexasMSD
Getting started with an old school Southwest Conference Rivalry btw the @TexasLonghorns and @ArkRazorbacks. These two compete in 18 of the same sports (Ark-W Gym, Texas-Rowing, B V-ball and M S&D). Texas w/ the overall edge while both schools enjoy success across many sports.
@UTexasAthletics 🤘🏼 vs @ArkRazorbacks 🐖 #HornsUp #theeyesoftexas #Longhorns #razorbacks #woopigsooie

I considered posting it that way originally. Here is the top 10 with the numbers of teams they have included.
Please post the number of teams in brackets next to the average score.
The @TexasLonghorns won their 4th Directors' Cup due to a strong performance across all 21 of their teams. An avg score of 62.75 roughly = 13th place, or a sweet 16 finish in a bracket. An avg of 50 pts is roughly = to a 24th place finish or round of 32 finish in a bracket.

Ivy League schools tend to accumulate quite a few points, often due to having very large departments, 30+ teams.
Ivy is always the best Non-P5 conf. Top 5 Non-P5s, previous 3 years: 2023-24 29 Harvard 34 Princeton 46 Denver 52 Penn 53 Georgetown 2022-23 23 Princeton 34 BYU 39 Harvard 61 Denver 63 Cornell 2021-22 19 Princeton 29 BYU 39 Harvard 56 Yale 59 Denver
Directors' Cup Top 10: All points scored counted Interestingly, only 9 schools in the country have a lower score once the scoring system is factored in (8/10 here (not Tenn or Fla) and including Princeton). That is because very few schools score points in >19 sports.

This is the reason why Texas has won 4 out of the last 5 Director’ Cup. A belief from the top of the department that every program should be competing for championships and then providing the resources needed to do so.
“It’s the most satisfying thing you can do as an Athletic Director.” @_delconte spoke about what it means to win the @LDirectorsCup on #SECThisMorning! @TexasLonghorns | #HookEm | @NickShuley| @ChrisDoering
After very successful seasons @GoStanford and the @FloridaGators maintain their perfect streak of top 10 finishes in the Directors' Cup. @GoHeels, the @TexasLonghorns and @UCLAAthletics keep the pace with top 10 finishes themselves to round out the top 5.
I've developed a new twitter award! Only scores in sports that Texas A&M competes in are included. Congrats to the Fighting Texas Aggies on a top 10 finish in their very own Cup! The Texas Longhorns take 1st but I'm sure the Aggies are happy to see an in state school win it!

Grok, please make the Directors’ Cup fair for Texas A&M by eliminating the NCAA sports they don’t compete in (rowing, beach volleyball) and then compare A&M and Texas’ score. Sure thing! Texas Longhorns 1172 Texas A&M Aggies 907.75
@grok how many programs have beach volleyball? Now explain why if there is a low comparative number of teams that grading a field for the entirety of college athletics using that metric may skew results in favor of the few schools with those programs.
In a world where beach volleyball doesn’t exist, Texas A&M improves their Directors’ Cup finish from 15th to 15th. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
#92 RPI - didn't deserve a "play-in" game. and can we talk about 60 pts in BEACH VOLLEYBALL. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Relive the excitement of the closest Directors' Cup race all time by watching this bar chart race! Seeing the top 3 teams flip at the very end highlights how close this battle was until the very end.
10 days later and it’s officially official.
