I want a Pet Ghost! From Funstuf in 1976, these neatly-boxed little ghost toys were clearly inspired by the Pet Rock craze. 👻

Bask in the Halloween glow of this Walgreens ad from October of 1989! With old candy, a Ghostbusters treat bag and that pile of spooky movies on VHS, this is haunted heaven.

Here are the Kmart Cafeteria specials from the summer of 1988. Used to love hitting this place between rounds in the toy aisles. (PS, Thursday is Hot Turkey Sandwich Day.)

On the latest Purple Stuff Podcast, we're diving into a 1987 network television broadcast of A Nightmare on Elm Street! With commercials and all! Listen here: dinosaurdracula.com/blog/elm-stree…

Wild that one of the best things on McDonald's menu were those little boxes of chocolate chip cookies. I know some folks preferred the cookies shaped like McDonaldland characters, but I was always Team Chocolaty Chip.

Nintendo stuff at Kmart, back in 1990. Get yourself a Game Boy, and then hop over to the cafeteria for a thrice-cooked burger.

Well, here's a once-in-a-lifetime find. A three-foot Coke II store cooler, from the early '90s! If you've never heard of Coke II, that was Coke's way to keep the "New Coke" formula on the market, in certain areas where it was popular. It lasted until around 2002.

You're looking at official artwork for the Pepsi/Frito-Lay "Monster Bash" store display, from the 1992 Halloween season. Aside from the standees, they also built giant cardboard houses based on the Bates Motel! Back then, going to the supermarket was like walking through a haunt.

On the latest Purple Stuff Podcast, we're talking about some of the best and weirdest STUFFED TOYS from the '80s and '90s. Listen here: dinosaurdracula.com/blog/stuffed-t…

Toys "R" Us circular from 1991, featuring a whole lotta Mario. 🎮

Taco Bell's Goosebumps Kids Meal box, from 1996. Dig those foil touches. 💯

Back in 1997, Taco Bell and Lunchables teamed up to deliver the one meal everyone really wanted: Tiny beef tacos, a fun-size Butterfinger bar, and a pouch of Capri Sun Surfer Cooler.

Here's a look at the famous GIANT PIZZAS of the 1990s. On the left is "Pizza by the Foot" from Little Caesars, and at right is Pizza Hut's "Bigfoot Pizza." Both were large and in charge.
