Leading this incredible organization has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. So much love and gratitude for my entire @CompileHer family. Young women of color deserve the world and more, and I fully intend on being their biggest advocate for years to come.👸🏽
Every girl should be able to leave her mark on the world. The women at @CompileHer want to make sure of that—with the help of computer science:
Meet Devshi Mehrotra, a 2025 Festival Fellow and the co-founder and CEO of JusticeText. Her startup is using AI to help public defenders better serve their low-income clients and promote accountability and transparency within the criminal justice system: bit.ly/44mIfSV
200+ founders. 3 days. Pure magic at the stunning @ojaivalleyinn. Huge thanks to @trueventures for an incredible Founder Camp! I learned so much on how we can use AI to level up our tech for public defenders and amplify our mission at @JusticeText . Ready to get back to work. 🚀

Public defenders are chronically under-resourced and overburdened with caseloads. @JusticeText's AI software helps lessen the load and make our criminal legal system more just. Hear from co-founder @DevshiMehrotra on @reidhoffman's podcast: open.spotify.com/episode/184NNG… #AI

The answer can’t be: “We’re not going to use AI.” There are too many positive applications. @JusticeText co-founder @DevshiMehrotra makes this point loud and clear by providing resource-strapped public defenders with AI tools to better serve clients. link.chtbl.com/iKIbQDwN
A decade ago, a wave of whistleblowers, mostly women of color, called out bias in algorithms, and now a new generation of entrepreneurs is getting down to work on countering the problem. Read about @DevshiMehrotra in my @axios series on women in AI. axios.com/2024/11/08/ai-…
I am so proud of everyone around me who has a dream and brings it to life, especially with little to no guidance. It really is not easy. It’s way easier to take the path of least resistance.

Last March in Wisconsin, an AI program used to analyze police bodycam footage detected alleged police misconduct that helped get a case dismissed. I dug into AI speech startups seeking to analyze the glut of police bodycam footage for @techreview technologyreview.com/2024/04/16/109…
"JusticeText did bring to light possible evidence of police malfeasance—specifically, destruction of apparently and potentially exculpatory evidence." Read how a lawyer used JusticeText to challenge her county's problematic BWC policy in the @techreview. technologyreview.com/2024/04/16/109…
