"Blessed are the peacemakers." What a joy to celebrate Mass today with the Pax Christi community, whose work for nonviolence brings the Beatitudes to life. May this gathering bear healing fruit in our broken world.

Today we celebrated the Feast of Ste. Anne, grandmother of Christ and beloved patroness of the @archofdet. Today and every day, may she intercede for all families, especially grandparents and the faithful of this great city.

Today my predecessor, Archbishop Emeritus Vigneron, celebrates 50 years of priestly ministry—a profound gift to our local Church. May the Lord, who called and sustained him in ministry, bless him abundantly for his generous “yes.”

In this Sunday’s Gospel reading, Jesus gives his disciples the words that continue to shape the lives of his followers today: The Our Father. In this week's reflection, let’s dig into these words so we can better understand this treasured prayer.
Recalling Pope Francis' nightly calls to Father Gabriele Romanelli, pastor of Holy Family Church in Gaza, I feel an ever-greater need to repeat our late Holy Father’s calls for an end to the bloodshed—calls now echoed by Pope Leo.

With gratitude and hope, we formalized a historic partnership yesterday between @DetroitSteAnne and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation. May this endeavor bear lasting fruit for the Church, the city of Detroit, and all who seek the presence of God in this sacred place.

Today I joined hundreds walking to the ICE field office in Detroit, motivated by a truth that flows from the Gospel: Everyone has inherent dignity. We recognize this dignity above all else and seek to bring our nation back to its roots of charity, accompaniment, and welcome.

This morning, with deep gratitude and joy, I received the sacred pallium from the Holy Father during Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. When I received the pallium, I said, “I’m Archbishop Weisenburger from Detroit. You were ordained a deacon…

It is with joyful anticipation that I leave today for Rome, where I will receive my pallium from Pope Leo XIV. As I receive this sign of unity with the Holy Father, know that I will be holding you all in prayer.
On Sunday, June 29, Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger will receive the sacred pallium from Pope Leo XIV during a special Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
I was so happy to bless @CCSEMichigan's new Center for the Works of Mercy, where people can access medical, dental, food, clothing, and other critical needs. It is a true hub of Catholic service and manifestation of Christ's love. May God bless all who serve and are served here.

As we walk with Christ in today's processions, we recognize that Corpus Christi is not just a celebration, but a proclamation: “I am the living bread…whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (Jn 6:51) May Christ in the Eucharist strengthen your faith and grant you peace.

Thank you to all who attended the Archbishop’s Gala in support of Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Your generous support enables our seminary to form future priests and lay ministers to proclaim, teach, and defend the faith as shepherds of souls in our community.

Today’s blessing and grand opening of the Cathedral Arts Apartments marks a step forward in our local Church's mission to go out from the pews in service of everyone in our community. May this space always serve as a source of hope and renewal for all who call it home.

At today’s Jubilee Mass, we honored 40 priests celebrating a combined 2,028 years of ministry. Among them, Archbishop Emeritus Vigneron marks 50 years of faithful service. Thank you, brothers, and may the Lord who called you continue to bless your ministry.

It was an honor to preside at the funeral Mass for Archbishop Michael Byrnes, a native son of the @archofdet and beloved friend of many from southeast Michigan to Guam. May the Lord grant him a peaceful rest and eternal reward.

On this Solemnity of Pentecost, I had the great joy of celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation. The same Holy Spirit who descended upon the Apostles at the first Pentecost comes again at Confirmation, strengthening us in our faith and renewing the Church in every generation.

Congratulations to Fr. Benjamin Schroder and Fr. Pat Bruen, the newest priests of the @archofdet. Our hearts rejoice as your priestly ministry begins. May the Holy Spirit sustain and guide you as you go forth in faithful service to God and his people in southeast Michigan.

Today, the Knights of Columbus Michigan State Council begins its annual convention. I am grateful to join in prayer and fellowship for the first time as Archbishop of Detroit. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue the work of promoting charity and proclaiming the Gospel.
