They may be a little camera shy, but our numeracy intervention students have worked so hard this year so enjoyed some well earned celebration events today with some competitive quizzing, games and treats!

Y9 concluded experience week with a PE, Maths and Science cross curricular day monitoring and recording our heart rate during an interval training session, learning about the effects of exercise in science and manipulating heart rate data in Maths @derbyhighbury

Our nature question team took to the outdoors for inspiration in creating maths questions about nature, sampling and sustainability. Tomorrow they’ll use their creative skills to present their questions ready for our QR code trail. @derbyhighbury #enrichment #experienceweek

Amongst other events today students have enjoyed an exploration of the Medieval Islamic arguments against the existence of infinity and have come away with some souvenirs of “The Witches of Mathematics” by @RachelCBeattie @derbyhighbury @OfficialUoM #enrichment #diversityinmaths

“From Tenzi to Florence Nightingale” was one of the workshops students enjoyed at @OfficialUoM today. Collecting data from the dice game Tenzi, they explored mean tendencies and hypothesis testing using statistical packages and visualisations. @derbyhighbury #enrichment
