I’m gonna touch base on this. It’s not necessarily the origin of the game but the style of the game. We don’t call any of the Legend of Zelda games JRPGs because they were made in Japan do we? No. I stand with what Shinky JRPGs says. 💯
Just because Sea of Stars, Eternights, and Clair Obscur weren’t made in Japan doesn’t mean they’re not real JRPGs. They capture everything that makes the genre special — story, style, and soul. JRPG is a style of RPG these days, not necessarily a place of origin. Thoughts?
