I am very proud to be joining the University of Galway as Director of Sport & Physical Wellbeing. The priority is to develop Sports Performance and Sport for all in the University. Thanks to everyone at Setanta College for the last 2.5 years. It is great to see how it has grown.
University of Galway has announced the appointment of Des Ryan as the new Director of Sport and Physical Wellbeing. Mr. Ryan will play the lead role in the development of infrastructure, facilities and participation for all sport activity in the University. #UniversityofGalway
This week Max Dowman (15) & Marli Salmon (15) featured for Arsenal v AC Milan in pre season. Four years ago I was lucky enough to work with them and the rest of the U12 squad over covid. Long term athletic development in action. I look forward to watching that squads progress.
In the last 3 years @unigalwaysport students have won 2 gold and 2 bronze medals at the u23 world rowing champs. This year 6 of our students filled the mens 2x & 4x. A fantastic achievement for a university sports programme. @uniofgalway @martcrossy @RTEsport @Galwaybayfmnews
