Liberalism as a political and economic philosophy is simply a codification and extension of how Anglo-Saxons had been living for maybe a thousand years or more before Locke and Hume and Adam Smith.
Mehdi Hasan went up there and asserted this claim about immigrants adding $9 trillion to GDP, and then added this is a $65,000 gain for every American on a per capita basis. Such a ridiculous claim is either due to Hasan’s economic illiteracy, or outright lying.

When you just repeatedly talk over a 20 year-old girl, and ask questions over and over without giving them a chance to answer, it’s easy to look like you are “steam rolling” someone in a debate. But you’re not. You’re just wasting everyone’s time.
