Dinosaur paleontologist at the Royal Ontario Museum @ROMToronto & Assoc Prof at @UofT. Member of @RSCTheAcademies, Fellow of @RCGS_SGRC. Opinions my own.
After fieldwork I visited @RoyalTyrrell and got to see their new exhibits. Easily my favorite new specimen was their giant #Triceratops. The best trike skull found in #Canada to date, it is jaw-droppingly well preserved. Plus it was prepped by @ROMtoronto alum Ian McDonald.

Can’t go to the @RoyalTyrrell without admiring #Borealopelta— one of the most amazing #dinosaurs ever found. It’s the centerpiece of the new Breakthroughs exhibition. Here it’s displayed in the raw, without the metalwork body outline. I love it.

Happy fossil Friday! Here - Seymouria sanjuanenesis from the Early Permian Bromacker locality of Germany. Easily the best specimen(s) of this genus ever found. #SocietyofVertebratePaleontology #SVP
Terrific study underlining the fact that just because something looks superficially like a feather it doesn’t mean that it is one - a major blow to uncritical assessments of integument evolution
I am proud and grateful to present a dream project today in @Nature! nature.com/articles/s4158… Meet #Mirasaura grauvogeli, a #wonderreptilewith skin appendages that rival feathers and hairs, challenging our view of reptile #evolution🪶🦎
“They’re moving in herds. They do move in herds!” - Dr Grant, Jurassic Park Very excited to finally share our new paper: A ceratopsid-dominated tracksite from the Dinosaur Park Formation (Campanian) at Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada 🦖 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ doi.org/10.1371/journa…
Got a chance to see the “Teen rex”, a new #Tyrannosaurus specimen, up close at the @DenverMuseumNS. It is a breathtaking specimen, I might add. #FossilFriday #Dinosaurs #Paleontology

Everything came together to get our ornithomimid block flipped, capped & ready for pick up! This turned out to be about 1000lbs. Fingers crossed most of a skeleton is inside. Special thanks to Wendy & Ed Sloboda for their help with the pull. #SADP2025

The final chapter of my PhD is finally published today in Nature Ecology and Evolution! Extremely proud of this culmination of years of work on the avian sternum, and grateful to everyone who contributed. Please reach out if you'd like a PDF 🎉 nature.com/articles/s4155…

🚨Our new study: Tiny teeth, big story. During the last few 100,000s of years of the Cretaceous, before the asteroid hit, a great diversity of theropods was living near what is now Barcelona. Dinosaurs were strong, up until their tragic end! Our paper: doi.org/10.1016/j.cret…
Absolutely thrilled to have this fantastic endorsement from the legendary @slash. Thanks so much, my friend! 🦖🎸🤘 Pre-order now. Illustrated by @BobNichollsArt. – Coming September 2025 cup.columbia.edu/book/the-secre…
Another day, another dinosaur auction. A world where dinosaur skeletons can fetch tens of millions of dollars within a few minutes at auctions is not a world where dinosaurs will long be accessible to educate and inspire everyone. My thoughts for @CNN cnn.com/2025/07/18/sci…
Here’s a highlight for this field season: a complete frontal from a troodontid #dinosaur— I think the first from the Oldman Formation. I’m excited about this one. Found by none other than Wendy Sloboda. #SADP2025
