This week on “The Backdrop”, @JanjoZone and I took a look at the “Jurassic Park” franchise for @SecondWindGroup, and why none of the sequels have come close to capturing the magic of the original. WATCH: youtu.be/LoKUlztVQcI?si…

All-Star developing a reputation for being just hopecore is such a shame because this book captures the wonderful melancholy of Superman so well.
All star Superman and “hopecore” has done just as much damage to the character as injustice
I think it’s more likely he is doing uncredited rewrites and punch ups on screenplays (not necessarily these ones) than he is going to make a surprise return to directing a blockbuster film.
This is how I expect Joss Whedon to return. He’s friends with Gunn, he’s friends with Goddard, he’s friends with a bunch of people involved. I think he’ll write a DCU movie at first and then write/direct another after.
A huge thank you to @SixOClockShow for having me on to promote my new book “Pete McGann’s Guide To Being A Big F*(e)ckin’ Irish Eejit the other evening. I think it went really well😃
… until now, baby! #FantasticFour
It is a little funny that shared universe shenanigans mean that even on a parallel Earth, #FantasticFour has to treat Mole Man as somehow an amalgam of Mole Man, Namor *and* Doom. That said, I loved Mole Man in “Fantastic Four.” Paul Walter Hauser is really great.

I rewatched “Moonrise Kingdom” recently, and Willis is so good in it. Beautiful performance and film.
I remember even on set he needed several takes to get his lines right, but Wes was super patient with him and he ultimately delivered a really great performance cuz he knew what he was doing even if he wasn’t word-perfect, but then once it happened, he was always getting it right
Am I the only one normal enough to recognize this as absolutely ghoulish and exploitative? The genocide is still happening but sure! You guys can have your feel-good "We did it guys!" fantasy using the suffering of real Palestinians to clout chase for your dumb gimmick account

Yep. The “day of the week, week on the life” structure is one of the most interesting things about the film, and while the film itself ostensibly didn’t change too much, removing the title cards retreats from that to something designed to feel more conventional.
they should have kept the 'days of the week' title cards for Superman
No actually Prometheus rocks because the explanation for the Alien from Alien existing is quite literally “god hates you so much and wants humanity dead”
the problem with the "alien" "franchise" is that they're trying to build a mythology that explains the alien this is remarkably inferior to the original premise "there is an alien and it kills you"
What about “(F)FFS?”
if you're willingly calling it "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," that is narc behavior. you have caved to Big Disney's Branding Machine. the movie is called "fantastic 4" or, at most, "the new fantastic 4 movie"
Of course it does. It’s a hall of mirrors designed to keep you using it, to justify its existence, and which does that in part by eating away any critical thinking skills by offering you what it assumes you want to hear.
