32. LFC fan and Irishman. Would rather be James Milner.
Cesc Fabregas in the middle of Ferdinand and Richards is like putting Paul McCartney inbetween Jedward.
Cummings has had a brilliant tour and I understand calls for him on the bench but in general in international sport (not just rugby) people want the best individuals and don’t credit the need for experience and know how. In Ryan the coach went for what he knew and got rewarded.
James Ryan's cameo, by the way. Massive in a decisive defensive set and then a big carry in the build-up to the try. Selection absolutely vindicated.
It’s far from a guarantee it happens now because Palace are tough negotiators and rightly so from their end but had a nagging feeling all summer Guehi isn’t a replacement for Konate or Quansah, he’s the long-term Gomez replacement and we probably don’t mind if it’s next summer.
Just because there’s been transfer work in other areas doesn’t mean Liverpool have any intention to go into the season with 3 centre backs as they know how stupid that would be when 2 have the injury records of Gomez and Konate so we really need to calm down on that one.
Didn’t see the game because of work but feels wise to remember it means absolutely fuck all in the grand scheme of things.
Newcastle fans yet to have this realisation while they continue to complain about PSR and not being able to buy titles…..
Luke Edwards is having the kind of window we had when we brought in Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky and Jovanovic.
Since it doesn’t look like we’ll do anything in midfield I hope we back Endo a bit more and I think we will. Of the small group of first-teamers who found themselves on the fringes last season he’s the one I expect to stay and also the one Slot probably changed his mind on.
Not sure who the exact individuals will be that come in because I still think a couple of them are quite open to what can be done but at this point there’s easily £200m that can still be raised in sales and that’s not even including younger players who could go for smaller fees.
Doesn’t mean it will be us (although not sure who else it would be) but there’s no way Isak is telling Newcastle he has an interest in leaving if there isn’t something lined up.
Not sure why there’s surprise we might want Isak along with Eketike. Clear we want to sell Darwin and a bright start to pre-season rightly won’t change that. Need 2 strikers, plenty of games for both and Isak misses a reasonable amount of games so Eketike won’t be on the bench.
Naturally we will all react to stuff as it’s reported but it’s always worth remembering that in most cases when it comes to transfers (out as well as in) the club are weeks if not months ahead of what we know or hear so there will be a plan for all of it.
We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, subject to international clearance 😎
Oh dear, this is going to be counted with their “English Super Cup” among the cult.
Arsenal beat Milan 1-0 but lost 6-5 on penalties in Singapore. They were awarded a trophy after winning their first game of their Asia Tour 🏆🔴
