It can't only be because of the love&labour of making art objects, that I feel so tearful & so fulfilled with this book in my hand? Sharing a joy in this strange academic life. It has been patiently waiting to be read, while I was away this past month for research.

The metaphor I used to describe how a problem, unexpectedly encountered during #fieldwork, became a beautiful thing in my student's work. Today, much describing & laughing between us, 'til she identified the translation in #Mandarin for me, with indicators of the characters.

Despite claims of outrage on social media by various politicians, this was not dismantled yesterday. It was set alight surrounded by supposedly wholesome families & marching bands who thereby legitimised its message. ADDRESS NI HATE CRIME LEGISLATION.

Every year Moygashel bonfire combines artistic protest with their cultural celebration. Their yearly art has itself become a tradition. This year the focus is on the scandal of mass illegal immigration.
