Ringing in the new year by celebrating some of the people, programs, and activities that made 2024 special! Best wishes for 2025 from all of us at DIMACS!

Yael Kirkpatrick from @MITMath closed out day 3 of the Workshop on Hardness of Approximation in P with a wonderful talk on "Beyond 2-approximation for k-Center in Graphs"! #Rutgers

Yesterday was day 2 of the DIMACS workshop. Here's a glimpse of some of our attendees listening to a presentation on the "Challenges in Fine-Grained #Complexity of Approximation in P" by Amir Abboud from the @WeizmannScience. #Rutgers

Today is day 1 of the DIMACS Workshop on Hardness of Approximation in P organized by @karthikcs_ ! Subhash Khot from @nyuniversity led off the event with a tutorial on hardness of approximation in the more traditional realm of NP-hard problems. #Rutgers

Neil Sloane, creator of the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS) and long-time friend of DIMACS, delivered an engaging talk today for our 2025 REU students. The seminar, titled "In the Footsteps of Heraclitus," explored unsolved problems in number theory. #Rutgers

We are excited to spotlight a recent publication by Dr. Nina Fefferman and Dr. Maggie Sullens titled "Budget Allocation and Illegal Fishing: A Game Theoretic Approach." Congratulations on this wonderful contribution to the field of conservation science! aimspress.com/article/doi/10…
DIMACS & @CCICADA announce the Endowed DIMACS Support Fund created by Dr. A. David Mangelsdorff & Dr. Linda A. Smith to support our #homelandsecurity activities. Click the link to read more about their generous gift & what led them to our Centers! #Rutgers dimacs.rutgers.edu/news_archive/m…
