A quarter of a million people have now opposed this overreach by the government, who have already used it to suppress political speech. They will likely double down. Elites don’t ever consider that they might be wrong. But this is one of the few avenues of complaint available.
I’m a mom so I feel I’m in a position to speak on this matter - but we don’t need “online safety acts” and “bills” to protect kids online. We need parents to play a more active role in their kids lives and teach them about online safety at home, and to better monitor their kids…
The Kids Online Safety Act is the U.S. equivalent of the EU's Digital Services Act and the UK's Online Safety Act. If passed, it could mandate digital identity, fully deanonymize the internet, and impose significant censorship.

I need people outside of the UK who think its only "Gooners" who are mad over this new ID law to understand that the Online Safety Act doesn't just apply this authoritarian horseshit to porn, its ANYTHING that can be vaguely classed as "adult". Violence, alcohol, drugs etc.
There’s a UK petition to repeal the Online Safety Act, claiming it restricts free speech and burdens small hobby forums, causing closures. It needs 100,000 for a parliamentary debate. The government defends the Act’s balance.
