Oh to make a small and simple story-game through the gameplay of a traditional rogue-like with simple sprite graphics accompanied by more detailed portraits on inspections of objects or characters and an interesting setting. Maybe some day.

putting a monster in the backrooms is sort of like those 'cartoon character is dead theory.' it undermines what makes the series so interesting. by making the fears of unknown physical you've made the horror explicable.
