Great day today at the DFTC Family open day , we were delighted to see so many people, both young and old . We are open again sunday 27/07/2025 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs .
DFTC FAMILY OPEN DAY we are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. We are open from 10:00 to 13:00 hrs .

12 Pounder Coastal Gun given on loan from the Curragh Military Museum to Camden Fort Meagher in Cork


The museum is closed tomorrow the 15th of july due to unforeseen circumstances.
Due to maintenance work the museum is closed from Monday 7th of October and will reopen on Sunday the 13th of October.
The museum will be closed for the Christmas. It will re open Sunday 7th of January 2024

The museum is currently trying to add to its collection of 1935-1955 Officer’s Dress Uniforms. If anyone has such uniforms they would be willing to loan or donate to the museum we would be delighted to display them with the appropriate acknowledgment

Today was Confirmation Day on the Curragh Camp. However in 1862, The Right Rev. Dr. Walshe, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, administered the Sacrament on Soldiers serving on the camp, many of them veterans of the Crimean War. 1853 – 1856. curragh.info/archives/Curra…

In September 1916, a requiem mass was held in the Catholic Church, Curragh Camp, in memory of the officers and men of the 10th and 16th (Irish) Divisions who fell in the war. Rev. W. Murphy, C.F, also remembered the great battle honors of both divisions. curragh.info/archives/Irish…
When Elise passed away in 1934, she received a funeral with full military honours. Forever known as the friend of the soldier, the last of her homes will finally close on March 31st, 2023. After 154 years in service. 3/3
