Matt Shaw since the break: 9-game hitting streak. 12-for-26 4 homers 2 doubles I was told he’d never hit in the bigs. I was told PCA would never hit in the bigs. I was also told Horton should be a reliever.

I need a film crew to follow multiple MLB front offices the entire week of the Trade Deadline. That doc would go crazy. I can’t imagine the calls, texts, and conversations Jed Hoyer is having leading up to next Thursday.

Dylan Cease would be a beast as a Cub.. a very good fit with this rotation. But…. he’s a Boras guy and in the final year of his deal. So… no thanks.

I get this, for sure. Caissie is an obvious replacement for Tucker (or even Happ after next year). But he’s also their best trade chip for pitching. You could still have Happ/PCA/Suzuki in the OF next year. Also have Alcantara, Conrad, free agency, etc. for future OF.
