Yah attacking the DFL convention process is going to piss people off. Especially those of us who donated our money and time to trying to make the caucus a success.
Darwin could have gone on the most hyper progressive podcast in the country w the same opinions and they would have had the same complaint lol. These people are so odd
You seriously think the GOP will manage to nominate a candidate who can win statewide? Especially in a Trump mid-term election? I look forward to seeing which of the many GOP clowns wins the right to lose in November.
Hahaha and in a few months you'll be upset that MN has a Republican governor and you dumb cunts will have brought it on yourselves
There are broadly four factions in MPLS politics. GOP, Moderate DFLers, Progressive DFLers, the DSA. Power in this city shifts between the second group and the third and fourth groups. And as far as governing with rivals Frey has failed to do this.
We should ask mayoral candidates if they think they shouldn’t be talking to anyone outside their current coalition and if that’s how they’ll approach governing if elected.
In no sense of the word is Minneapolis a swing district. It can have a more progressive mayor. I am not even that progressive especially by MPLS standards and as a former Frey voter in 2021 I won't be voting for him again. Frey hasn't earned another term as mayor.
In swing districts, we call DFL politicians who engage with Republicans... winners. Why? Because we believe that good leaders are capable of both holding true to their values and engaging with a large swath of their electorate.
I mean he went on a Republican's podcast to talk shit on the Minneapolis DFL convention and try and sell Minneapolis Republicans on voting for his boss. I can see why people might view him and his boss that way.
In Mpls, politics, anyone even slightly to the right of the DSA gets slapped with “Republican” or “Conservative” even if they’re actually closer to the average Democratic voter than the activists throwing the labels (AND even if they worked for the DFL & the current DNC chair)
Calm down we are not doing the AOC Zorhan endorsement saga again. Her endorsement will mean more in October when voters are thinking about the mayoral race not now when the election is still months away.
Just like AOC endorsing Zorhan right before the election Ilhan should wait to endorse until like October.
Narrator: she’s going to endorse Fateh, just not now. No two Minnesota politicians loathe each other more than Ilhan and Frey.
Give the Met Council preclearance power over the 7 county metro cities' zoning rules and watch how we break suburban NIMBY power. Given that the Met Council is responsible for approving every city's comprehensive plan this isn't even that much of an expansion of its power.
Hmmm. “Decentralization of land use authority is *the most significant driver * of [insert favorite community name here!] affordable housing crisis.” #MNLeg #YesToHomesMN
