I saw this opening weekend at the long since torn down Pacific Cinemas on 22nd Street. There might have been 20-30 people at my Saturday night screening.

Watching LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN on the recently released Blu-ray has been kind of a revelation. I experienced the show during its standard def original broadcast and then later on DVD, but this is the BEST it has ever looked.

Yeah…ummm…NO.

I know there’s been a lot of SUPERMAN vs FANTASTIC 4 discourse, but for my money, the latter is the go-to super hero film to see this summer. Both are reasonably solid, but F4 was such a decent return to form for the MCU and stood firmer as a fresh standalone effort.

From Director James Cameron, watch the trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash. Experience the film only in theaters December 19.

Saw the new AVATAR trailer on the big screen tonight. Yeah. Looks pretty damn rad.

FANTASTIC 4 is the most purely enjoyable MCU entry in years, with its wonderful retro-futuristic aesthetic, solid lead actor chemistry, and an awe-inspiring/scary villain. Best of all, it stands on its own feet and doesn’t feel wholly slavish to an increasingly dense MCU mythos.

Lionsgate will not ship limited edition steelbooks to Canada, so that kind of sucks.

Internationally, SUPERMAN dropped -57% in the face of serious comic book competition--$19.8M this weekend, $213M total. This lackluster performance overseas is certainly a cause for concern for the new DC Universe, as superhero movies traditionally fly much higher there.

I literally saw an exchange on here with one user rightfully lambasting another for taking multiple photos in a cinema screening of a recent release and that user, in turn, proceeded to lambaste the accuser for being a toxic human being and calling him out.

How is BATMAN BEGINS not on this list? And GOTG 2 versus 1 on here? No IRON MAN 1?! Crazy.

Saw this when it premiered opening weekend at Saskatoon’s Towne Cinema (now @RoxySaskatoon). Man…it was depressing. LOL

Re-watched the pilot for LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN (it premiered just after I graduated high school) and was surprised how well it actually still holds up as a dialogue and character dynamic driven super hero show first and foremost.
