Coins are a resource that you always need to ensure you have enough to expand. There are a variety of ways you can earn or collect coins, but by far the easiest is clicking on the floating barrel when it passes by.

Production chains are important in Craftlings. Provide the required resources to the building to produce the tools you need to expand. These buildings will display a yellow triangle pointing down to show what resource you need and a green triangle pointing up to show what tool…

Unlocking more resources, more buildings and more usables is done by levelling up. Each new level achieved provides you with additional ways to expand your settlement.
