So that's why @LutonTown season went up in flames. Massage oils used for player rub-downs are seeping into towels and causing them to spontaneously combust in tumble dryers. It's a shame the players weren't on fire on Saturday. More like a damp squib.

Remembering David Preece, one of most popular players in @LutonTown history, who died on this day 18 years ago (July 20, 2007). He was 44. 'Mini' played 395 games for Hatters in all competitions from 1984 to 1995. He also scored 27 times and created many goals for team-mates.

One of @LutonTown oldest fans, Leslie Lemon, has died aged 106. He served in the Army before, during and after WW2 and later worked for the Inland Revenue. His family said his passion for supporting the Hatters remained right up to his death.

I wish Amari'i Bell well. Steady performer for @LutonTown until injury problems caused loss of pace. Better in CD than at LB. Just don't show Charlton fans video of countless times opposition players ghosted in at far post and scored after Bell lost concentration and his man.

American singer Debbie Harry, who turns 80 today, on stage at the Queensway Hall, Dunstable, on March 2, 1978. I've added two posters publicising Blondie's UK tour that year, of which the Dunstable gig was a part.

Kenilworth Road, @lutontown home for 120 years, ranked 3rd noisiest in EFL. Not surprised as 'Old Girl' really rocks when Hatters are playing well. Sadly, it didn't happen enough last season as team's performances only got the fans going at full voice on a handful of occasions.

MK Franchise (aka Bletchley Stealers) unveiled a new signing today. He looks really pleased to be there. The poor bloke will need to get used to all those empty seats when he plays in that soulless bowl next season.

Never forgetting Pc Jon Henry, who died in Luton town centre on this day 18 years ago (June 11, 2007 ) when he was stabbed minutes after starting his shift. Married for two years, he had a young daughter. He was 36.

Even wealthy musicians whose band have sold 60 million albums worldwide have to join long airport queues occasionally. Still, it's got to be better than life nearly 60 years ago when he lived in a grotty Luton bedsit and was a cleaner at a cinema in the town.

Spot on. You'll probably suffer more despair than experience joy, particularly if you support @LutonTown, but that's the way it should be.

You know you've had a terrible football season when you gain even fewer points than the UK entry in Eurovision. @LutonTown picked up 49 points and finished 22nd. The UK song came 19th with 88 points. All Hatters fans are asking, "What the hell just happened?"
How quickly fortunes change in football. It was only last season @LutonTown took four points off Crystal Palace in their two Premier League games. Palace won the FA Cup today while Luton look forward to life in the third tier of English football after back-to-back relegations.
Looking to cut costs after relegation to League One, @LutonTown have today completed a deal with Peckham Town FC to buy their Main Stand. It will be installed in the early stages of the construction of the Hatters' new stadium at Power Court.

Smoke was seen rising from @LutonTown stadium after a fire in the laundry room last night. Does this mean a new pope has already been appointed?

CONFIRMED: Jesus is @LutonTown fan. Hopefully he can perform a miracle and save the Hatters from relegation.

Happy birthday to @LutonTown, formed 140 years ago today (April 11, 1885). I've been supporting the Hatters for 64 of those years and they're still causing me frustration, joy and despair.

"If they had the same desire and hunger that they're showing now at the beginning of the season, they would've been safe." The words of @LutonTown legend Mick Harford in The Times (see below).

Winning with a century, couldn’t believe it 🤣🎉 back same time tomorrow!
All hail the ale! With son Tom at the annual Beer and Sausage Festival at the Live and Let Live pub in Colchester this weekend.

How fortunes change so quickly in football. They have for @LutonTown and Bournemouth since their seven-goal Premier League thriller 12 months ago. The Hatters lost that game and it's been downhill ever since, while the South Coast club are heading in the opposite direction.
