Hmm.. it was the states which created the Union, not the other way around. Upon ratifying the Constitution (entering the Union) states asserted their sovereignty over the Federal government. The principles of self-government and sovereignty are clearly outlined within the…
It was based on the idea that secession was constitutionally impermissible. Even though the US Constitution doesn't explicitly forbid secession, neither does it grant states the right to secede. The supremacy clause makes clear the federal government is sovereign over the states.
“If the Declaration of Independence justified the secession from the British Empire of three million colonists in 1776, how can it be denied that the same principle applied to eight million Southerners in 1861 seceding from a Union which they no longer wished to be part of?” ~…
On April 4th, Virginia Unionist John B. Baldwin visits Lincoln. Baldwin suggests Lincoln order the withdrawal of troops from Ft. Sumter and Ft. Pickens, Lincoln responds that “his friends would not be pleased with such a step.” Then, the President added, “Well, what about the…
Once the low Confederate tariff was announced, powerful Northern business interests came out strongly opposed to peace with the Confederacy. As the pressure for aggression mounted, Lincoln decided to provoke an attack on the fort in order to use the attack as a pretext for…
Lee--hands down. He was often outnumbered and short on supplies, yet still found a way to beat the Yankees time and again.
Who was the better General, Ulysses Grant or Robert E. Lee?
He'll always be one of America's greatest generals.

"Faith is a charger that carries a man into battle, but he must fight when he gets there, and then Faith will bear him through the fight." - Leonidas Polk, Fighting Bishop of the Confederacy

The park service: "The war was all about slavery." Also the park service: "Derr--this is the 3rd National Flag"
I don't know, but I don't think this is right..... @csa_appreciator Courtesy of the national Park service website
“The one great evil, from which all other evils have flowed, is the overthrow of the Constitution of the United States. The Government of the United States is no longer the government of Confederated Republics but of a consolidated Democracy. It is no longer a free…
To say that "The south fought to maintain slavery" and that slavery "was the only only issue dividing the North and South" is a falsehood. It is poor historical assessment and investigation of that period. #FactCheck
"We see him now, -- the old slouched hat Cocked o'er his eye askew; The shrewd, dry smile, the speech so pat, So calm, so blunt, so true. The "Blue-Light Elder" knows 'em well; Says he, "That's Banks, -- he's fond of shell; Lord save his soul! we'll give him ---;" well, That's…

"In Lee, the South sees character. Success could not dim it. Public adulation could not tarnish it. Defeat could only test it, for character is invincible.” ~ Douglas Southall Freeman

Hey yankees, liberals, and trolls. Just remember, Robert E. Lee was Lincoln’s first choice to command the Union Army. Lee was the best of the best, and they all knew it.
“The South lost—get over it” Yeah… And the slaves that were sold into slavery by the African chieftains, lost. The native Americans who were conquered, lost. Since when is losing a prerequisite to forget about your history and heritage?
To me, the old Confederate soldier is the most unique character the world has yet produced. It took sixty centuries to make him, and when the supreme hour came he made good and taught the whole wide world a lesson it will never forget. No higher record of martial glory will ever…

Where do we start? First, a minority of Southerners owned slaves, making their whole point ridiculous. But if we play along, and let's say the Fed Gov't could ban "Confederate monuments," then I guess it could also ban LGBTQ monuments too? #WokeMindVirus lgbtqnation.com/2025/07/german…
