I suppose, if: — people paid tax on investments before selling them; — that unusual tax was applied only when they doubled, not annually; —that person somehow locked in 7% return for 200 year term (when they’d pay $250,000 in tax upon maturity — if it’s not in an RRSP, or TFSA).
