It’s best to keeping the line IS on 3 for 3 to a big lb+ 2 dlinemen and put the RB on the small db. Most of the time if they bring the slot defender they will bring the same side islb making it 4 to a side that come: THE DT/DE/ISLB and the SLOT DEFENDER. QB KNOWING WHO IS THE KEY
ALL levels use 3x1 formation-put one in motion if you want get to a 2x2 look to tell man/zone. With 3x1 its easier to tell if the SLOT defender (NICKLE IS COMING) THEN ONLY USE A RIP/ LIZ CALL KEEPING THE OL INSIDE (3 for 3) (no dual) and direct the RB to the NICKLE rusher
DO YOU KNOW WHAT AN OVERLOAD IS. MOST NFL COACHES DONT WANT TO PUT THE RB ON THE BIG LB TO THE 2 MAN SIDE AND SLIDE IT. THAT WOULD BE THE FRONT WHERE I WOULD TAKE MY CHANCES AND IN THE PICTURE PUT THE RB ON #55 AND SLIDE IT, BUT IF HE COMES HE WILL RUN RIGHT OVER AND THRU THE RB.
If you figure out the last diagram (WITH MY WRITTEN HELP) You will understand 6 man Pro as it’s a HARD ONE. LETS HOPE YOU GET IT AND ARENT TOTALLY CONFUSED. YOU NEED TO KNOW: 1)DOG-GDS CALL 2)SQUEEZE- C-G TECH 3)LOOP- T’s CALL 4) BIG (ONLY 2 DEF-BIG ON BIG) AWAY FROM THE OVERLOAD
ILL COVER LATER: 1) ITS 3x1 TO THE OFF RT 2) THERE ARE 3 BIG MEN TO THE LT +ONLY 2 TO THE RT SO ITS AN OVERLOAD LT (NO DT TO THE OFF RT) 3)THE *POINT LB(#49)DOGS (DOG CALL FROM G TO T) 4) THE LT OTS MAN #43 “LOOPS” ALL THE WAY TO THE OFF RT 5) #33 COMES LATE- YOU FIGURE IT OUT !

If the previous ID of Off and Def personell is confusing to You, You will be totally lost in Protections.
If your confused from 21/12/11/or 10 OFFENSIVE personell you will have trouble identifying The off receivers as well as the Defenses NICKEL AND DIME COVER GUYS. These are basic words identifying off and def personell.
WHOLE KEY WHETHER ITS 2x2,or 3x1 IS THE NICKLE OR DIME DEFENDER COVERING WHAT THE OFF FEELS IS THEIR SLOT RECEIVER (a 4th receiver known as “THEIR SLOT”) as in reg 21/12 per there is a TE, X AND Z receiver. In 11 personell The fourth receiver (THE SLOT) can be called the “F”
HERES THE VIDEO PUTTING THE OL ON A “RIP” CALL FOR #55-THE *** POINT and The Rb on the smaller defender #28 to the OFFENSIVE LT. IT ENDS UP WITH 3 RECEIVERS TO THE OFFENSIVE LT WITH THE RECEIVER IN THE BACKFIELD MAKING IT A 3X1.
6 man pro- SF put the OL on the Big LB #55 +the RB #22 onThe Smaller rusher to the Lt #28. The 2 Deep look told the QB there could be 5/6 defenders coming but no SLOT DEFENDER IN THE PITTS DIME DEF(5 BIG GUYS AND 6 DBS) THE TE KITTLE was the 1 Rec to the Rt-3 Rec lt counting #19
WHOES the NICKLE defender and is he backed up (CAPPED) Some are getting lost in TRANSLATION. Maybe too complicated ???
That was a confusing question I got from a coach.
There should be no confusion from 6 man pro from a 2x2 or 3x1 formation. The qb still has to send the Dual to the side he thinks a 4 man rush might be coming from. 3x1 puts 3 receivers to one side where the 4 man dog would have a higher percentage to come from. Still 6 blockers.
On another note I watched the series “THE QUARTERBACKS”on NETFLIX. I AM A BENGALS FAN BUT IF I WASNT IT WOULD BE HARD FOR ME TO SAY JOE BURROW’s NOT THE BEST NFL QB. BEFORE YOU DISAGREE WITH ME WATCH THE SERIES. Then you can agree or disagree. Don’t reply until you’ve watched it
One nice coach started talking re the ease of 2x2 protection on Sprint Out. My stuff is all on Drop Back. NFL USE SPRINT mostly on the GL. Not sure of College. I know it’s big in HS. Whatever Works for YOU-I’m all for. ❤️🐭🏈
The dou read for the back is outdated whether you believe me or not, unless everybody uses the Spread and the dog only comes from a 0 STACK LB AND NOSE where you can slide it. Dual was invented to take the stress off the RB vs BIG IS OR OS LBS +the site adjusts were being covered
IM OK WITH SLIDE PRO VS THE 3-5-3 if the MAN OR MEN OS one of the DE’s DO NOT BLITZ. Vs any variable of a 4 man line (OVER-UNDER-EVEN) OR A GD BUBBLE DEF WITH ALL OR SOME BIG IS OR OS LBS IM DUALING IT.
BRADY WOULD HAVE HAD TO RE-SITE IT TO ONE OF HIS RECEIVERS TO HIS LEFT AS IM SURE HE SAW # 29 starting to cheat. Smart Def. I would have still taken my chances and called Dual Lt and let the RB Ck 99 and redirect to # 29.
