Oh how I wish more coaches understood this regardless of how talented offensively your player might be - mistakes happen but not knowing the scheme or philosophy or what defense we’re in … can’t happen.

Rotations, coverages, proper positioning, adhering to the rules of your defensive identity. These are all things that need to be done and done well. At the end of the day, defense and not turning the back over is what you can control. Do those well and you'll still win most games…
