𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 ... NOBODY reminds anyone of the standards 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 ... COACHES remind team of the standards 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 ... CAPTAINS remind team of the standards 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 ... EVERYONE reminds each other of the standards
Teammates who trust, love, and respect each other will strive to make each other better. They will remind each other of the standards. This will lead to a strong and healthy culture. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬!
Being a great teammate means you are just as happy about your teammate's success as you are your own success. Great teams have great teammates.
PLAYERS: Before you question your playing time, honestly evaluate how you're using your practice time. Make sure that you're bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a team-first mentality to practice. Build good habits in practice. Find ways to be valuable. Make your teammates better.
A team's culture becomes stronger when a player reminds another player: "𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏'𝙎 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙃𝙊𝙒 𝙒𝙀 𝘿𝙊 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙎 𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙀"
PLAYERS: Your results are a reflection of your habits, choices, and what you value most. Everybody says they want certain results but they don't always do what's necessary to achieve those desired outcomes. What you do is what you believe. Everything else is just talk.
COACH SABAN ON TRUTH “The hardest part is we have to believe the truth when someone tells us we need to improve on something . . . if you don’t you’ll never improve.”
BAD PLAYERS don’t take much seriously. AVERAGE PLAYERS take games seriously. GOOD PLAYERS take practice & games seriously. GREAT PLAYERS take academics, nutrition, warm-ups, ind. work, weight room, conditioning, film, practice & games seriously. ~ @CoachJonBeck
COACHES: Be careful you don't get frustrated by the very things you are responsible for in your program. Your players will do what you allow, tolerate, permit, or accept. Fight for your culture daily. Reinforce and reward those behaviors that are important to you.
NO EXCUSES. This is a great look into the mindset of being a champion. Possibly the greatest commercial of all-time.
Great teammates look for ways to support, encourage, and help their teammates. Great teammates make others better. Great teammates are more focused on the team than their own agenda. 𝑾𝑬 > 𝒎𝒆

PLAYERS: Anyone can have a good attitude when they're playing well, the team is winning, they're getting minutes, or the refs are not "picking on them". But a player's true self shows when things are not going well. Have a good attitude regardless of the circumstances.
PLAYERS: Nobody is entitled to playing time. It is earned during your training and practice sessions. Those sessions start now.
PEYTON MANNING ON PREPARATION “I could actually get lost in the intense focus of figuring things out that others may never even look at.”
“A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” (Billy Graham)

PLAYERS: Every single practice and training session is an opportunity to prove to your coach and teammates what kind of value you bring to the team.
PLAYERS: It doesn’t matter if you're wearing your practice jersey or wearing your game jersey, you should have the same amount of pride in what you're doing and who you're representing. Be consistent in your effort, attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment.
OUTWORK EVERYONE IN FRONT OF NOBODY “If you want to look good in front of thousands you have to outwork thousands in front of nobody." (Damian Lillard) Be willing to do what others won't do. Your success is often earned during the unseen hours.
CHAMPIONS ACT DIFFERENTLY Great reminder from @AllistairMcCaw
