“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”—George Orwell, “1984”
I’ve been active on this site for more than 15 years. In that time, it has become clear to me that the biggest problem the Democratic Party has is Democrats themselves. As with any general statement, there are exceptions. But by and large, the rank and file are the problem. (1/)
Ham.
What tastes good hot AND cold? Honestly, I can’t think of anything! 😭
Hate to say it, but she’s right about this project being a huge waste of public money.
The California crazy train is coming to a squealing halt!🐷🚂
Are these people stupid, or crazy? It’s one or the other. Maybe both.
YEP! The big secret isn't that they were afraid Biden would lose, it's that he would WIN - AGAIN - and then retire handing Kamala Harris the Presidency AND incumbency in one fell swoop. Instead, they sabotaged her by giving her a short runway.
This whole litany of redistricting fantasies—by a bunch of amateurs who don’t know the first thing about the law, or what they’re talking about—is either funny or sad. The sheer number of people who get on here and talk out their asses, as if they know something, is incredible.
Amen.
If I found myself agreeing with a known crackhead on an issue, I wouldn’t think “hey, the crackhead has a point!” I would wonder why I’m agreeing with the crackhead.
Some people just love losing.
Well, let’s run Hillary and Kamala.
I would caution people against viewing statistical trends as unshakeable destiny. Remember all the people who said Texas was ripe to turn blue because the margin shrank from 16% to 9% to 6% over three cycles, and then Trump won Texas by double digits?
Jewish presidential vote by year in the U.S. 2012: 🔵 69-30 🔴 2016: 🔵 71-24 🔴 2020: 🔵 68-30 🔴 2024: 🔵 66-32 🔴 So 🔵D+39 in 2012 to 🔵D+34 over 12 years. So at this pace, a majority of Jews will support Republican presidential candidates in…checks math…the year 2096.
Sorry, but this guy is one of the most brilliant politicians I’ve ever seen. I’m not for him, but damn, the man’s got game.
Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends. But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month. See you soon, NYC.
“The teachers’ union?” There’s more than one.
We've assembled a team to revoke the teachers union's federal charter. You in?
I am reminded of the time my home county’s coroner investigated a death in which the deceased had been hit in the head 37 times with a hammer, and he ruled it a suicide.
Very curious what this audit actually looks at ngl
Is he top five all time? I don’t know. Maybe. I can confidently say he’s in the conversation, for sure. People who weren’t around in that era have no idea how good Larry was—and not just as a shooter.
Y’all never watched Bird on this app and it shows, the guy is top 5 all time ✌🏻 (thehooprewind TikTok)
No, they understand that just fine. And they know exactly who they want it taken from.
The majority of voters don’t understand that money the government gives to one group has to be taken from another. Government spending is a zero sum game.
This is great advice except the parts about giving your time for free. Being likable and reliable are great ways to get ahead, but you don’t have to give up weekends or evenings to do that. The unhealthiest part of our culture is the idea that our lives belong to our employers.
Underrated career hack: Be easy to root for. Show up early. Do what you say you're going to do. Take things off others plates. Stay late. Work weekends. Have a great attitude. Don't gossip, whine, or complain. Be easy to work with and hard to compete against.
Whether a city is a “power center for aspirational talent” in four cherry-picked industries is not the sole determinant of whether it is a “tier 1” city (whatever that means). Hell, if you want to succeed in finance, you can do pretty well in Charlotte. Tech? Austin and Seattle.
There are only four tier-1 cities in the 🇺🇸: New York (finance) DC (government) San Francisco (tech) LA (media & entertainment) No other cities are power centers for aspirational talent. Sorry.
Sort of reminds me of the old Soviet grocery stores.
Despite a recent $750k taxpayer subsidy, the shelves at Kansas City's government-run grocery store are "almost bare." It also lost $885k last year and is, unsurprisingly, hemorrhaging customers.
1) I know this isn’t actually RFK2, but this post does reflect his position on this issue. 2) I think RFK2 is a trainwreck and a nutcase, but a stopped clock is right twice a day. 3) RFK2 is right about this. Pharmaceutical companies should not be allowed to advertise on TV.
Why are we still stuck watching endless Big Pharma TV ads pushing pills we don’t need? Is it medicine or just expensive marketing? It’s time to end the pharma ad flood on our screens. Our health deserves better than commercials. Speak up America! MAHA
