Quality non-conference schedule for Creighton. Most of their toughest challenges will be away from CHI. Not much ramp-up time before playing at Gonzaga on November 11. Those exhibitions will be key to clicking early.

Greg McDermott tells me that he plans to coach at Creighton for 2-3 more years before retiring and handing it off to Alan Huss. Huss --- who was previously the head coach at High Point --- was named Creighton's "head coach in waiting" in April.

Creighton's Owen Freeman (knee) is out 4-6 weeks, but is expected to be fully ready for the start of practice in September, per Greg McDermott. Transfer from Iowa who averaged 16.7 PPG and 6.7 RPG last season.
