A prolific bag thief has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Sid Rebai, 36, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to six counts of theft in the City. He was also handed a Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from entering the Square Mile for six years.

Ahmed Kawa, 34, of no fixed abode, has been charged and remanded for arson with intent to endanger life and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. It relates to a fire on Lovat Lane on 12 June 2025 Kawa will appear in court in August.
