It's World Snake Day - so here's why we should appreciate Snakes more: Snakes are very important to our ecosystem, helping to keep rodent populations down. The Heath is home to Grass Snakes, whose numbers are fast declining, so it's important we work hard to protect them! 🐍

Several dead fish have been found in the Model Boating Pond. To help prevent the possible spread of disease, fishing at this pond is temporarily suspended while we await test results from a fish sample. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The Pergola ramped access will be closed from today (25 July) until at least the 4 August while we continue essential maintenance. Thanks for your ongoing patience while we look after the historic Pergola.

You may remember we posted a picture of an Alder Moth caterpillar for National Insect Week a few weeks ago. As its now #NationalMothWeek we thought we'd show you what the bright and bold caterpillar pupates into, a more modest, but still beautiful, moth!

The lower section of the Pergola (Kitchen Garden) is open as the masonry works are completed. The ramped access is still closed with essential repairs in progress. The gardens are looking beautiful - well done to the staff and volunteers who work hard to keep them this way 👏
