Research proficiency in mathematical modeling. Penchant for data engineering & science💡💻 📊
Proud to share that I successfully defended my #PhD #thesis on mathematical modeling and stochastic simulations applied to biomedical data. Many thanks to my research group @AppSysBio and the @LeibnizHKI. Grateful for this challenging time and excited for what is coming next!

Habits that have a high rate of return in life: - sleeping 8+ hours each day - lifting weights 3x week - going for a walk each day - saving at least 10 percent of your income - reading every day - drinking more water and less of everything else - leaving your phone in another…
2-line proof that LLMs can’t achieve superintelligence: 1. LLMs don’t learn out of distribution. 2. Superintelligence is out of distribution.
If your model fits perfectly, you perhaps missed reality — either by model overparameterizing or choosing the wrong data sample.
When experts are wrong, it's rarely because they're uninformed. It's often because they're overconfident. Certainty is the enemy of curiosity. In a turbulent world, doubt is a catalyst for clarity. If knowledge is power, knowing what you don't know is wisdom.
The most direct path to a fulfilling career is not to follow your passion. It's to follow your flow. Flow is the state of full absorption. When you're in the zone, you don't even notice that you're enjoying it. Intrinsic motivation lies in the activities where time disappears.
Many situations in life are similar to going on a hike: the view changes once you start walking. You don't need all the answers right now. New paths will reveal themselves if you have the courage to get started.
Happy to share our latest work in computational biology, published as research article in @CommsBio, on spatiotemporal modeling of the early immune mechanisms during fungal lung infections. Great collaboration between @MFIG_Bertuzzi's lab and @AppSysBio! nature.com/articles/s4200…

⏬⏬ Together with the Fuhrmann Lab, we're looking for a TA to help us out with some super cool S2 work👩🏻🔬🔬🦠🙏🏻please RT 🔁🙏🏻 jobs.fau.de/jobs/technisch…
🚀 Less than 16h until the official opening of my lab at @UniFAU! I’m feeling both excited and terrified 😅 So thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to dive back into the world of pneumo, vesicles & microscopy🔬🦠 Any last minute advice for this new journey? 🙏🏻✨ #newPI
Great talk by @haesleinhuepf about Large Language Models for Bio-image analysis at the #IbSB2024 organized by @AppSysBio! As LLMs are everywhere, the main human task becomes verifying #LLM outputs rather than creating. Also, progress happens so fast, when will this saturate?

Don Sheppard rocks #Myk2024 with a captivating key note lecture on galactosaminogalactan. A story of biofilm, french red wine, and how being wrong can advance science.
Dreams are fun when they are distant. The imagination loves to play with possibilities when there is no risk of failure. But when you find yourself on the verge of action, you pause. You can feel the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Thoughts swirl. Maybe this isn't the right…

Two books I enjoyed reading during my annual leave. Don‘t believe everything you think by #Joseph #Nguyen and 4000 weeks by @oliverburkeman. Both incredibly insightful, question your mental habits and provoke reflecting on how you perceive time and thoughts.
