Chris Murray MP
@ChrisMurrayMP
Scottish Labour MP for Edinburgh East and Musselburgh. Member of Home Affairs Select Committee.
I have joined 220 of my MP colleagues in urging the government to recognise Palestine as a state. The scenes were are witnessing from Gaza are intolerable. The violence and suffering must end. In my view, the time has come for the UK to recognise Palestine.
221 MPs, from 9 parties, have sent a joint letter to the Prime Minister & Foreign Secretary urging them to recognise Palestine as a state now
I’ve campaigned on sewage in Scottish waters since the election - while the SNP Scottish Government do *nothing*. My constituents have to deal with wetwipes and sewage on the beach. It’s unacceptable - the SNP shd take a leaf out of @SteveReedMP’s book - and take action!
OFFICIAL: The SNP are managing water pollution in Scotland even worse than the Tories did in England👇🏼
Mass starvation is spreading in Gaza. Our colleagues and the people we serve are wasting away. It is time for governments to take decisive action and save lives: msf.org/mass-starvatio…
The humanitarian situation in Gaza is completely intolerable, and we cannot ignore the cries of children dying of hunger. The path to a ceasefire now runs through recognition of the State of Palestine. France is right to recognise. The UK must too.
Consistent with its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine. I will make this solemn announcement before the United Nations General Assembly this coming September.…

These attacks on @WHO are intolerable and are further crippling the health response in Gaza. Medics working in conditions that could scarcely be imagined in our worst nightmares must not be targets. Israel must comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law.
.@WHO’s staff residence in Deir al Balah, #Gaza, was attacked three times today as well as its main warehouse. Israeli military entered the premises, forcing women and children to evacuate on foot toward Al-Mawasi amid active conflict. Male staff and family members were…
Sorry for intruding on your holiday @nickmward 🤣🤣
The advantage of being on holiday is you get to catch people like @ChrisMurrayMP talking passionately about the mental health crisis we currently find ourselves in.
"The pandemic saw the biggest sacrifice from one generation for another, since the war. Then we said to children: off you go to navigate the [mental health fallout] on your own." An MP with empathy? IT'LL NEVER CATCH ON! Well done @ChrisMurrayMP. A touching contribution. ~AA
