Data is pointing to a nasty day of heat and humidity across Iowa on Monday afternoon. ECMWF, GFS & NBM all pinning stupid numbers for heat index across central/southern Iowa. North of 110° across the board. Will be monitoring. Temps: mid 90s Dew Point: upper 70s #IAWX #HeatWave

Rain looks most promising over the SE 1/4 of Iowa tonight into Saturday morning. A bit will extend northward but the heaviest totals will be closer to US 34 and south. A couple spots could rise 1-2" with amounts dropping moving NW. Will be watching that potential early Saturday.

The National Balloon Classic kicks off tonight in Indianola. We're on radar watch for possible isolated showers/storms that could ground balloons, but wind looks good if the sky can clear up. Either way, still plenty of fun and entertainment to be had at the field. #IAWX

Short ride for Day 6 of #RAGBRAI as cyclists make their way from Cedar Falls to Oelwein. It's a short day, but one that will be humid and have a slight headwind. Temps start in the low 70s, peak into the mid 80s by afternoon. No rain. Almost to the Mississippi River! #IAWX
