Happily living in beautiful Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The power of the monsoons have made the Mesilla Valley and the Organ Mountains lush green. Yes, I live in a beautiful place.

I love New Mexico and Santa Fe so much that almost 20 years ago I had the Thunderbird logo from Santa Fe founded Natural American Spirit cigarettes tattooed on my back with its wing span from shoulder to shoulder and I don’t even smoke.

A friend back home in Kansas City saw them testing the new extension on their street car line tonight. Albuquerque should have had something like this instead on ART and buses running down the middle of Central Avenue.
Just a random cloud I saw from my window I thought was beautiful that needed to be captured.

And now this. I saw the monsoon cancel out the haboob before it could cross the Mesilla Valley. Have to love New Mexico weather.

My mother passed away in 2013 and I am only now beginning to take steps to dispose of her extensive jewelry collection through an Etsy shop I created three weeks ago. Today a customer asked if there would be import tariffs from New Mexico to Rhode Island. 🙄
Slim chances but I would not mind if we receive more rain today in Las Cruces.

A friend in Kansas City sent this photo to me last night of Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art illuminated in Pride colors on the last night of Pride month. The Nelson-Atkins is about to embark on a transformational expansion that I look forward to seeing when completed.

We have not seen this kind of light show in Las Cruces for a very long time. Hopefully the rain comes with it.

Yes please!
A plume of monsoon moisture will start to bring storms into New Mexico Sunday. The heaviest rain will fall Monday through Wednesday. Some places could see more than 2-3" of rain! Flash flooding will be likely both on and off burn scars. #NMwx
This photo of an Argentinian saguaro was posted in a Las Cruces gardening group. They are not indigenous to the Las Cruces area but they do pretty well here. This is one of the tallest ones I have seen here.

My father, mother, and my youngest sister. The photo was taken during WWII while my father was a Commander in the U.S. Navy. All three have since passed. My father was killed in 1982. My father was a kind and gentle man who loved animals. I miss my father every day.

The oleander in my backyard are looking especially nice this year. These are such great plants for the desert. The only water they have received this year was some rain a few weeks back.
